Sensory Overload - Fashion Film

"Sensory Overload occurs when one or more of the body's senses experience over-stimulation from the environment, and the brain takes in more information than it can process. Overwhelmed by all the input, the brain responds as it would to a life-threatening situation and enters fight, flight, and or pressure and touch are the only way through it.”

I had the pleasure of collaborating with fashion designer Haley Colton on her senior showcase project, Sensory Overload. This was my first experience editing a fashion film. My approach to the project was to evoke a sense of discomfort and an overwhelming experience, mimicking the feeling of sensory overload through the use of music, sound effects, flashing sequences, overlays, and slowed pacing, all while ensuring the garments remained the focal point.
